Change did come, But where from?

Advertising is a major part of the human life. We advertise products, services, and because of this have to prove who we are.

A product such as clothes is one way humans identify themselves. There are many different styles and with that, people who like it and don’t. An example of this is the "professional look". When going to a job interview, meeting, or something of that nature there is a type of attire that we wear, to show we are serious. This is not to say that clothes change who you are but it is what humans help judge what professional is. This along with other stereotypes only last until you meet that person (with sometimes preconceived ideas about them). That is when judgment comes into play. To decide if that person is actually professional, following another stereotype pushed on by humans.

With everything having already preconceived ideas behind it and when clothes are worn for a type of style, it is not hard for me to believe “he’s not black” and the points she makes. “We are so racially backward that we insist on calling him black.” With the society that we live in, where looks are central to the social life, a presentation, only by an emotion that we let this exist. We have proven that color of skin doesn’t matter. We have in January, a “black” president. This is a huge improvement because, of the color of your skin years ago would determine if you were a slave, or a slave owner. Even after, they were fed by emotion and racism still being around. The majority of the United States is past that.

“Progress has outpaced vocabulary.”-Marie Arana. Vocabulary is very important and a simple conjunction changes the entire meaning. It does not matter if Mr. Obama in his family genealogy was enslaved during that time but because of a color in his skin now, holds no difference weather we elect him or not.

When we start at a young age being exposed to ideas of what is right and wrong, can we not expect the outcome of stereotypes?

When we choose to ignore who a person is and determine by first judgment who that person is, everyone will miss the chance to make friends.

It is really up to the growing generation to place the United States where it is, just as the people voted this year the generation before them raised them, the change did come, but from where?
